Public information, social networking and egov

This podcast caught my attention; it describes the DIYcity project that encourages people to use publicly available information (including that from social networks) to build information services for cities. This basically advocates a decentralized approach to providing useful information to citizens, very much in line with the decentralized approach to Internet development.
