Harry Potter vs ... Windows 7?

This is an interesting, if irrelevant, comparison:
The old record for Amazon UK preorders was held by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The new record goes to Windows 7.

So much for banishing dragons & casting spells, Dan Brown sells (and I've heard from UK friends it wasn't a great read) / best Karen W

From today's Computer Weekly:

"The launch of Windows 7 has superseded everyone's expectations, storming ahead of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the biggest-grossing pre-order product of all-time at Amazon.co.uk, and demand is still going strong," said Brian McBride, managing director of Amazon.co.uk.

--->He said that only Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol had sold more copies than Windows 7. "This is an incredible achievement for a software product."
